Electrical Load Integration Analysis
Your company is planning to implement additional high power electric equipment. However, before approving the new electrical loads connection, your electric utility may asks for an electrical load integration analysis to ensure the new loads do not disrupt the neighboring customers power quality. This request is legitimate since these systems may require high inrush currents or even high current during ongoing operation (e.g. motors, welders). These electrical loads may thus cause unacceptable voltage fluctuations on the network (flicker). Furthermore, if these equipment generate high harmonic currents, they may distort voltage waveform excessively (sinusoidal wave profile disruption).
At 3E Eng., our experts will help you integrate additional load to your electrical installation. We will produce the documents required by your electric utility and guide you, when the need arises, in the choice and implementation of mitigation equipment to meet your electric utility requirements (harmonic filters, soft starters, equipment and/or processes adaptation, etc.).
Note to Hydro-Quebec’s customers: The requirements in this area are laid down in the standards C.22 -03 (fluctuating loads) and C.25 -01 (harmonic currents).
